Got this myself on my phone, and it simply rejected to update. Below's what worked for me.

Edit: this seems to be an issue that Facebook understand. It's an issue with the Facebook app, and not a generalised Play Store issue.

This is what benefited me a minimum of.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Store, Clear data and Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Services > Manage room, Clear all data and also Clear cache


It doesn't hurt if you restart your phone before you attempt upgrading facebook once again. And also, the install was SLOW. Simply at the very least 4-5 minutes. But, it did work. Otherwise try to uninstall it, or just await a fix.
