Got this myself on my phone, and it simply declined to upgrade. Here's what helped me.

Edit: this appears to be an issue that Facebook know. It's a concern with the Facebook app, and not a generalised Play Store concern.

This is what benefited me at the very least.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Shop, Clear information and Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Services > Manage room, Clear all information and Clear cache


It does not injured if you reboot your phone before you try upgrading facebook once more. As well as, the install was SLOW. Just at the very least 4-5 minutes. Yet, it did work. Otherwise attempt to uninstall it, or simply await a fix.
