What's Wrong With Facebook

Facebook went offline for lots of users on Thursday, with the globe's most popular social media network telling users that "something failed".

When going to Facebook.com, rather than seeing the normal homescreen or news feed, customers were welcomed with an empty screen and a short error message.

" Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on it and we'll get it taken care of as quickly as we can," the message reads.

The failure began at around 5.30 pm BST however, for most users, appeared to have actually been settled around 20 mins after.

Down Detector, which looks at reports of preferred services being down, presented blackouts in the UK, Europe and also the US.

Of course, people took to Twitter to have their say.
