Got this myself on my phone, as well as it simply rejected to update. Below's what worked for me.

Edit: this appears to be a concern that Facebook know. It's a problem with the Facebook application, and also not a generalised Play Shop concern.

This is what benefited me at least.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Store, Clear data as well as Clear cache

  2. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Provider > Manage space, Clear all data and Clear cache


It doesn't harmed if you restart your phone prior to you try updating facebook once again. As well as, the install was SLOW. Just at least 4-5 minutes. Yet, it did job. Otherwise try to uninstall it, or just await a solution.
