Got this myself on my phone, as well as it simply rejected to upgrade. Here's what benefited me.

Edit: this seems to be an issue that Facebook understand. It's an issue with the Facebook application, and also not a generalised Play Shop problem.

This is what benefited me at the very least.

  1. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Store, Clear data and Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Services > Manage area, Clear all data and Clear cache


It doesn't injured if you reactivate your phone prior to you attempt updating facebook once more. And also, the set up was SLOW. Just at the very least 4-5 minutes. But, it did job. If not attempt to uninstall it, or merely wait on a repair.
