Turn Off Location Facebook
When Facebook decided to withdraw efforts from its temporary check-in solution, Places, it quickly executed an extra passive location-sharing attribute that doesn't also have a name. It's simply there. And it's scary.
Currently, every time you compose a post on a mobile phone or desktop computer, you'll see a light-gray place description in the reduced left of the status box.
Facebook sneakily orders your place using GENERAL PRACTITIONER or Wi-Fi router, and also attaches it to your post, so your close friends can appreciate a much more extensive stalking experience.
Do you bear in mind opting in to that? Me neither.
In fact, if you dig with your privacy and also account settings, the alternative to switch off location-sharing isn't available. Nonetheless, it's pretty very easy to transform it off. Here's how:
- Since the place is received light grey, it's really easy to miss. Always check the reduced left of the status box to see if a location is attached.
- If you get on the Web, simply float the cursor over the area and click the "X." Your place will certainly no longer be connected, also to future standings. If you later on change your mind, simply click the area marker to manually enter your place, but beware: it will be affixed once more for all future updates (unless you turn it off once again).
-In the Facebook mobile app, tap the place to remove it. On the iPhone, you can shut off area solutions for Facebook completely by going to Settings > Place Services, and also transforming it off for Facebook.
